As the seemingly unending Brexit turmoil continues, how is the uncertainty affecting small business and other organisations?
The news last week that car production in the UK had dropped by around 45% is an indicator of uncertainty where large industrial enterprises with important export markets and depended cross-border supply chains are concerned.
Our own experience as a small consultancy business is mixed.
On the negative side there is a definite reduction in overall enquiries; decision making on project funding and resourcing from some clients is taking significantly longer. There appears to be a real sense of ‘wait and see’.
However, on the positive side for many of our existing clients it is ‘business as usual’ and current work continues and develops. We are currently developing a project with a large private sector client we last worked with in 2012.
It would be good to hear from other small enterprises on their own experiences of the current ‘uncertainty’.
