Action Learning

“This experience made the concept of transformational leadership come alive in an immediate and concrete way”
Alan Blackie, Chief Executive, East Lothian Council

Action learning, as the name suggests, is a group learning process that builds and develops the relationship between reflection on experience (in the workplace) and the action developed from reflection.

Through this disciplined process, an individual develops through the support of others in a group setting.  The discipline of Action Learning supports individuals to:

  • respond to challenges at work
  • identify and integrate learning into work practice
  • manage projects
  • develop reflective learning skills
  • and become more self-aware.

As long as the principles of Action Learning are followed, the process itself can be delivered in different ways depending on your needs and constraints.
